You may be sitting here reading this page wondering why would we devote an entire page to prayer. Well that is simple. God has given us an avenue in which we can communicate with him and that avenue is PRAYER. And there are several different types of prayers in which we can pray. James 5:6 tell us that we need to confess our sins one to another and to pray for each other. James also tells us that the prayers of a righteous man (a man who is right with God) are powerful prayers. And if you read in 3 John you will see that we are to pray for others to prosper and to have good health as well as to have a good life. Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 13:9 that we are to pray for others to become fully mature. He also tells us in Ephesians 6:8 to intercede for the Saints (believers). Did you hear that, we are to pray for others not just for healing from sicknesses but for overall good things for our family and friends. Use these words as a reminder to lift your brothers and sisters up to the Lord daily.
You know Jesus is our example to follow when it comes to prayer. Luke records many times where Jesus spent a considerable number of hours in prayer to His Father. Luke tells us in 6:12 that Jesus prayed all night up on a mountain just before he was to choose the 12 men who would be his closest disciples. He spent the whole night praying over which 12 men they would be. He wanted His Father's will over His own. I often wonder do we really take things serious enough in our own lives to spend time in prayer seeking God's opinion on choices we have to make. Unfortunately, I can say that there have been times in my life that I have not spent the time I needed in prayer before making choices. We also learn in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 that we should be praying constantly. No only that but we are to rejoice and give thanks for everything. When is the last time you spent more than 15 minutes in prayer. Today may be a good day to start praying more often and a bit longer than you usually do.
One other prayer we want to mention is the "Prayer of Salvation". This is the Prayer of a sinner who recognizes his or her needs for a Saviour. This Prayer is when a sinner confesses their sins to Jesus and ask Him for forgiveness of those sins. At the very instant in which the sinner confesses and asks for forgivenss, Jesus forgives them of all their past, present and future sins and opens up the door for them to have a relationship with God through Him. If this type of Prayer is what you are in need of, well it is very simple and you can pray it right here where ever you are and Jesus will hear you. But I want to reassure you, that if feel like you need someone to talk with you and pray with you while you say a pray like this, please do not hestitate to contact me. If you said this prayer, I want to personally welcome you into the family of God. Please send me a message and I will help to get you started reading the Bible.
Tuesday Evening Home Prayer
With all our busy schedules with our people living in all different directions from the church, we decided to make our Tuesday Night Prayer Meeting a time where we can gather in our homes with our families (or invite someone over or spend time alone with God) at 6:30 PM for at least an hour to pray over our church prayer list and other specific prayer needs. We started the Tuesday Prayer Meeting in July of 2019. We have been praying for CBC, for community of Corum, the homes with 5 miles in all directions from CBC and other specific names of people we have gone and visited on outreach. We have prayed for the LightHouse service and for those who are attending and those who will be attending. We have prayed for all the families who attend and have attended CBC in the last few years. God laid a burden on mine and Karen's heart to pray for CBC and Corum and 5 miles radius of CBC and will continue praying until God gives us a release.
Sunday Morning Intercessory Prayer
We spend time every Sunday morning during our Worship Service time praying over HEARTS. Each of these Hearts has a name written on it. These names come from our church members through family, friends, and even strangers who have a need for prayer. These needs could be medical, salvation, spiritual, cancer, private, etc. We usually do not know the exact need but we know that God knows the need, hears our prayers and answers according to His perfect will. So I want to encourage you that if you have a prayer need don't hesitate to ask someone to pray with you over that need. Pray is an important part of every believer life just as it is an important part of corporate worship.
Send Us Your Prayer Needs
If you have a prayer need, please send us a message through our contact page. Be specific as you can be in order for us to know what to pray for. Please list if you want this prayer need to be public for our church members or private for my wife and myself to pray over. 1 Timothy 2:1-6 First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and humanity, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, a testimony at the proper time.
